Overview Utah State University Counseling and Prevention Services (CAPS; https://aggiewellness.usu.edu/logan/mentalwellness) is seeking a therapist to provide individual therapy to students at a university counseling center and be part of a friendly and energetic team of interdisciplinary mental health professionals. This is a part-time, non-benefited temporary position on the USU-Logan campus for Fall 2024 and Spring 2025. The work hours are flexible between 8am and 5pm, from Monday through Friday. The hours per week will depend on the caseload and the therapist availability, and no more than 29 hours per week. Clinicians at CAPS are expected to provide culturally responsive services to all students.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake and individual face-to-face and teletherapy psychotherapy.
  • Prepare for sessions and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clinical services in the electronic health record system (Titanium).
  • Practice all responsibilities in accordance with ethical and professional standards and state laws.
  • Participate in CAPS weekly case staffing meetings (Tuesday 11:30am-12:30pm) if possible.
  • Understand and comply with CAPS and university policies and procedures.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a mental health discipline (e.g., Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy) from an accredited program.
  • Current clinical license or an ability to be licensed in the state of Utah (arrangement for supervision may be made for social work and counseling).
  • Experience providing therapy to college age adults.
  • Willingness and capacity to effectively use Zoom for telehealth.
  • Skills with basic computer programs (e.g., Word, Outlook)and an ability to learn our electronic record system (Titanium).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.

Advertised Salary $40-60 per hour, commensurate with experience and license type

ADA Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes.  The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
