QuadMed is looking for Pharmacy Technician to join our team in Lomira, WI. This is a 30 hour per week position! Schedule: Monday, Thursday and Friday 7am -5pm. No night and no weekends!

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB

The Pharmacy Technician I or Pharmacy Technician II will assist the Pharmacist in the areas of prescription filling, prescription distribution and clerical activities while under the Pharmacist’s supervision at all times. This position should increase patient confidence and loyalty to the pharmacy by providing consistent operating conditions, courteous and prompt service, and a friendly atmosphere. This role will accurately and courteously express pharmacy policies and procedures to the customer when appropriate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the preparation of prescriptions including entering patient information (demographics, drug allergies and pharmaceutical history) and prescription orders into the pharmacy system for processing

  • Assists Pharmacist in filling prescriptions by pulling stock, pouring, counting, restocking, packaging, labeling and pricing the prescription

  • Provides excellent customer service by greeting customers as they enter the pharmacy, keeping the pharmacy clean and inviting, and answering the phone in a courteous manner

  • Assists Pharmacist in the preparation, reconciliation and billing of third-party insurance claims and in the re-billing of rejected third party claims

  • Assists in checking and removing out-of-date product as instructed by the pharmacist

  • Orders, receives, rotates and stores product to assure quality controls

  • Reconciles daily merchandise orders

  • Maintains confidentiality in compliance of federal HIPAA regulations

  • Organizes and files records

  • Maintains all product labels, signs and prices aligned with product

  • Keeps work area clean, orderly and free from safety hazards; report hazards to the pharmacist or manager

  • Operates the cashier terminal and the credit card machine when checking our customers; collect proper payment for merchandise

  • Repacks and consolidates supply overstock (e.g., vials, caps, bottles, etc.)

  • Pharmacy Technician II Only: Mentors' technical skill set of Pharmacy Tech Trainee and Pharm Tech I. 

SCOPE

Will provide pharmacy services in our licensed pharmacies or dispensing sites for select patients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Pharmacy Technician I: Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program preferred

  • Pharmacy Technician II: Graduate from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.

Experience:

  • Pharmacy Technician I: Minimum three (3) months experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred

Pharmacy Technician II: Minimum one (1) year experience in retail or hospital pharmacy setting, two (2) years preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Current CPR (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

  • Pharmacy Technician II: Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work standing for most of your shift

  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft office applications and electronic mail. Experience with electronic medical records and/or pharmacy systems

  • Proven ability to work successfully with diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance diversity and inclusion

  • Knowledge of pharmacy standards, policies, and procedures, and of third-party insurance

  • Exceptional customer service, communication, organization, problem resolution and process development skills

  • Bilingual a plus
