Responsibilities
As a surgical services nurse at St Mary Medical Center you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable. Every day you will go over consent forms answer questions about the procedure do preoperative assessments make sure the equipment is ready to go and update family members on the surgery status during the operation. You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery. To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking remain calm under pressure and exercise good judgment in emergency situations. Responsibilities
Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
Care for patients before during and after procedures
Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
An experienced Registered Nurse who is independently responsible for: Organizing planning directing and coordinating the professional staff to ensure the delivery of high quality individualized patient care. The Charge Nurse will promote the maximum growth and development of the employees and assure patients advocacy under the direction of the Unit Director. *Observing and ensuring the implementation of the nursing process by other nursing staff members . Supervising clinical and other non-professional staff. Can provide high quality individualized patient care
Qualifications
Minimum of three years recent OR RN experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California with a more than satisfactory or outstanding performance rating as a Clinical Nurse III.
Current BLS ACLS & PALS certification.
Pay Range
$48.96 - $74.06 /hour
