WESCO Union - Truck Driver CDL in Long Island City, New York

As a Union - Truck Driver CDL you will deliver material to customers utilizing company-owned or leased trucks. You will also be responsible for preventive maintenance.

Shift: Monday through Friday; 6:00am to 2:00pm

A Day in The Life of a CDL Truck Driver

As a CDL Truck Driver you will be responsible for transporting cargo to and from specified destinations. You will prepare, receive, and provide appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick-up of goods to ensure timely service. * Must have a "satisfactory" driving record and CDL Classification/Certification. * This is a unionized position

  • Drive a truck with capacity up to three tons and usually six wheels to transport materials

  • Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo

  • Prepare delivery schedule

  • Deliver materials to locations designated by the customer

  • Obtain customer’s signature for proof of delivery and help to unload truck

  • Perform the duties of Warehouse Associate when not driving the truck and making deliveries

Education & Experience

  • High school degree or equivalent required

  • Must have a valid CDL License

  • 2 years required of truck driving experience

Skills & Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to be on your feet for extended periods
