Eastman Lead Engineering Project Planner/Scheduler in Longview, Texas

Responsibilities

This position is the Lead Planner / Scheduler for a circular manufacturing project announced at the Longview, TX Eastman site. This role will work directly with both the Eastman home office and site teams to build and maintain a comprehensive, integrated schedule. You will be a key team member of the overall project controls team and the lead voice on the schedule.

• Build the overall integrated project schedule utilizing resources from our main contractors. • Lead the internal integrated schedule discussion with the Eastman team. • Participate with each contractor as they build their schedule for understanding and input. • Ensure logic, durations, resource loading, float, etc., all make sense and meet best practices. • Provide insight and challenge schedule assumptions when necessary. • Immediately surface issues or concerns to the Eastman project team for resolution. • Generate Acumen Fuse reports and communicate the results and mitigation plans. • Clearly identify the critical path within the schedule and communicate to the Eastman team to assure team alignment. • Implements the Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures within the schedule to ensure that data stays connected and is readily accessible. • Analyze variances in schedule performance against the plan, and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management • Manage/report on project schedule float to ensure timely mitigation actions. • Develop conceptual schedules for execution scenarios.

Qualifications

• Firsthand P6 knowledge (minimum 10 years experience) • Strong communicator that can effectively collaborate with multiple contractors • General computer aptitude and capability with Excel, Word, PowerPoint • Experience on large EPCM or EPC projects • Resource loading knowledge and leveling (Hours & Quantities) • Knowledge on Acumen Fuse • Knowledge on schedule risk assessments • Knowledge in schedule benchmarking • Familiar with schedule analysis and mitigations plan • What if scenarios experience • Understands and has built complicated schedules for large capital projects. • Ability to understand the Eastman Primavera database / cloud and how to store and manage .xer files. • Experienced in schedule integration between multiple contractors and the owner’s schedule.

Location: This position will start in the Fluor office in Houston, Texas (Approx 1 year) and then transition to the construction site in Longview, Texas.
