Responsibilities

We are hiring a Senior Reliability Engineer at our Longview, TX manufacturing site. As a Senior Reliability Engineer at Eastman, you will support efforts in our manufacturing plants to improve process and equipment reliability. You will work directly with Maintenance, Engineering and Operations to identify, prioritize and execute our largest and most critical reliability improvement opportunities.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Lead projects that provide engineered solutions to complex problems that increase equipment and process reliability

• Partner with area maintenance to target systemic reliability and maintainability issues, reduce cost and improve productivity

• Provide support as subject matter expert on various types of rotating equipment and turbomachinery

• Provide support for plant outages and shutdowns as requested

• Identify and prioritize opportunities for reliability improvements by mining information from SAP, reliability systems and production losses

• Lead and manage Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) investigations

• Manage FMEA analyses on critical production assets

• Provide reliability input to capital projects as requested

• Provide technical leadership at all levels of the plant organization

• Mentor early career reliability engineers

• Work safely and promote the Eastman safety vision

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from ABET-accredited college or university is required. Mechanical engineering is highly preferred.

• 10+ years' reliability engineering experience, including experience in a chemical, petrochemical or related environment required

• Strong basic engineering and reliability engineering skills, with the desire to learn advanced reliability engineering principles

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Experience with root cause analysis (RCA) methodologies

• Experience managing equipment preventive and predictive maintenance plan with asset management software (SAP preferred)

• Knowledge of rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines, fans, agitators, motors, etc.)

• Understanding of common predictive and diagnostic technologies for rotating equipment

• Must be highly-motivated, self-directed and able to manage own project portfolio

• Desire and ability to work in the field with mechanics and operators as necessary in response to urgent critical equipment troubleshooting

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and PowerPoint)

• Effective group facilitation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with and lead cross-functional working teams

• Service-oriented, customer-focused and strong analytical capabilities
