PeaceHealth St. John Home and Community Service is seeking an experienced outpatient Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to provide warm hearted care in Longview, WA. PeaceHealth is passionate about growing palliative care for the community’s geriatric patients and their families. This opportunity is 45 miles north of Portland and 120 miles south of Seattle. Why you’ll love the practice:

  • Schedule: 1.0 FTE: Monday - Friday with no after hours call

  • Opportunity to build and grow the outpatient Palliative Care practice

  • Advanced care planning, Power of Attorney discussions, and support from multiple trained staff

  • Collaborate with on-site specialists and nearly 40 primary care clinicians with St. John Medical Group

  • Access to on-site Advanced Care Planning Coordinator, Medical Social Workers, Behavioral Health Support, and Chronic Care Coordinator team

Experience, License & Certification Requirements:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs.

  • Licensed to practice in the state as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Washington

  • Hospice and Palliative Care Certification for Nursing preferred.

  • ANCC/AANP certification required. (ANP-Adult Nurse Practitioner; ARNP-Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner, FNP-Family Nurse Practitioner or GNP-Geriatric Nurse Practitioner)

  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required at date of hire.

  • Have national prescriptive drug privileges with a DEA number.

  • Lake Sacajawea, directly across from St. John Medical Center is in the heart of Longview. A gravel trail circumnavigates the lake and is just under 4 miles and can offer a quick, refreshing break on a busy day.

  • Our community is just a short one-hour drive to the Pacific Ocean.

  • Longview and the neighboring community of Kelso have a combined population of 110,000 residents. Our area has many locally owned restaurants, coffee shops, brew pubs and national chains such as Target, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart. Along with a variety of grocery shopping options and April through October the Farmers Market is open.

  • Golf is also a popular sport in the area at the Longview Country Club, Mint Valley, and Three Rivers Golf Course.
