Los Alamos National Laboratory Post Bachelors Engineer in Los Alamos, New Mexico

What You Will Do:

The successful applicant will be responsible for learning and assisting programmatic facility operations within a clean Chemistry and Mass spectrometry facility. This is a >10,000 sq. ft. class 100/10,000 clean facility housing both chemistry and mass Spectrometry laboratories. The Engineer will develop and master the skills required for ensuring that the facility is operating optimally and coordinating preventative/corrective maintenance and programmatic facility modifications/upgrades with the appropriate LANL organizations.

The Engineer will be responsible for learning and developing requirements for programmatic system maintenance (UPS, generator, water treatment, etc) and coordinating external vendor support where appropriate. The Engineer will also assist with the coordination of Clean Chemistry facility construction and upgrades in other facilities as needed. The Engineer will work closely with Clean Chemistry Team Leader and First Line Managers to set priorities and schedules for facility work and will help coordinate work with facility tenants to ensure programmatic work is minimally impacted. The Engineer will provide work and follow procedures in accordance with all applicable safety and security practices.

The Post-Baccalaureate category offers college graduates the opportunity to participate in the UGS program after graduation. This category applies to those interns who have been awarded a bachelor's degree within the past three years but have not yet been accepted and enrolled in a graduate program. Post-baccalaureate interns may remain in this category for up to two years

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law.
