Los Alamos National Laboratory Postdoctoral Research Associate in Seismology in Los Alamos, New Mexico

Minimum Job Requirements:

Seismic wave modeling

Required Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Seismology, Geophysics, or a related field (completed within the last five years or nearing completion).
Research experience in any of the following areas: seismic wave modeling, seismic imaging and inversion, moment-tensor inversion, ambient noise analysis, machine learning, and field data analysis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
Proficiency in scientific computation is required.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a security clearance, which generally requires US Citizenship.
Demonstrated expertise in the following areas: seismic wave modeling, seismic imaging and inversion, moment-tensor inversion, ambient noise analysis, machine learning, and field data analysis.
Work Environment:
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (https://directives.nnsa.doe.gov/supplemental-directive/sd-0206-0002) . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.
Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.
