Robert Half Billing Specialist in Los Angeles, California

Description We are searching for a meticulous and dedicated Billing Supervisor/Manager to join our team in Los Angeles, California. As a Billing Supervisor/Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily system operations, executing electronic billing, coordinating system upgrades, and supervising the processing of attorney timesheets. This role is pivotal in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our billing processes.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the generation of preliminary billings and process attorney corrections to ensure accuracy

• Handle inquiries related to billings, client master file, and attorney master file data

• Supervise month-end closing procedures and produce month-end reports for delivery to attorneys

• Coordinate and assist with the upgrade of existing system hardware and software

• Execute electronic billing in a timely manner and track the status of invoices uploaded

• Apply retainer funds to the invoice as directed by the Responsible Billing Attorney (RBA)

• Process write-offs following firm policy and maintain a record for review and approval

• Maintain and update the attorney master file, creating timekeeper ID’s for new attorneys, law clerks, and paralegals

• Oversee the processing of attorney timesheets which are used to generate client billings

• Use Excel, Word, and other accounting software systems to perform work duties and responsibilities effectively Requirements • Proven experience as a Billing Supervisor/Manager for a minimum of 5 years

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems and Microsoft Office Suites including Excel

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services and IBM AS/400

• Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Accounting Functions and Billing Functions

• Experience in Claim Administration and Collection Processes

• Proficiency in Legal Billing and understanding of Billing Statements

• Experience with Billing Software for Attorneys and Computerized Billing

• Ability to ensure Correct Billing and handle Monthly Billing processes

• Knowledge of Legal software is required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and prioritize

• Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field is preferred.
