Description

Robert Half is looking for a bookkeeper to join our client, a dynamic design firm located in West Los Angeles, CA. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing accounts payable, and assisting with client billing. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and a solid understanding of payroll and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for employees using [payroll software].

  • Calculate and record payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and garnishments.

  • Prepare and distribute payroll checks or direct deposits in a timely manner.

  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Process accounts payable transactions, including invoice verification, coding, and payment processing.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies as needed.

  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Generate client invoices based on project contracts and billable hours.

  • Track and follow up on outstanding client balances to ensure timely payment.

  • Prepare financial reports and analysis as requested by management.

  • Assist with special projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

    Requirements • Proven experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in account reconciliation

• Knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in conducting bank reconciliations

• Demonstrable skills in bookkeeping

• Able to perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in performing month end close activities

• High attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the role.
