UCLA Health Director, Enterprise Analytics in Los Angeles, California

Description

The Director of Enterprise Analytics provides strategic vision and insights to enable the health sciences analytics community to transform data from CareConnect, ancillary applications, and other sources into meaningful and actionable information. This supports the improvement of patient care, streamlining of operations, and optimization of the revenue cycle. The Director fosters analytics governance and alignment by collaborating with leaders of distributed analytics teams embedded within multiple administrative and clinical departments of the health system.

Additionally, the Director leads analytics operations for the Office of Health Informatics & Analytics (OHIA), overseeing both general-purpose analytics delivery and specialized consulting through the Business Intelligence and Analytics Solutions teams. The Director also guides technology architecture and engineering efforts, representing the interests of the analytics community to ensure the proper design of data, analytics, and AI platform infrastructure delivered by various teams within Health IT.

As an integral member of the OHIA leadership team, the Director directly contributes to the office's ability to execute its strategy for health analytics, AI in healthcare, and clinical research enablement.

Salary offers are based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and internal equity. The full salary range for this position is $157,400 - $380,600 annually.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of progressively responsible management experience in information technology with experience managing an IT development and operations team in an enterprise data and analytics

  • Experience managing complex business requirements that are inputs to the provisioning of data and analytics services

  • Knowledgeable in the use of data warehousing and data modeling methods to provision analytics

  • Experience in the use of cloud-enabled analytics platforms to manage data and analyze is preferred, but not required

  • Experience in the healthcare data and analytics space is ideal

  • Ability to be immediately recognizable as a leader, possessing strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills, and able to establish credibility, rapport, and strong relationships with a broad set of senior executives, clinicians, and research faculty throughout the organization

  • Expert level skills in data collection, interpretation, and data storytelling

  • Results-oriented individual with an ability to effect meaningful change in a complex organization

  • Champions the analytics strategy for UCLA Health and has a natural ability to articulate that strategy to a variety of constituents

  • Demonstrates natural relationship management and influencing skills with the ability to be both strategic and tactical

  • A degree in business analytics, data science, business administration, or any related field associated with analytics is preferred, but not required.
