Safety-Kleen Grade II Wastewater Plant Operator in Los Angeles, California

Safety-Kleen Los Angeles, CA is looking for a Grade II Wastewater Plant Operator to join their safety conscious team! Working within a defined shift, the Wastewater Treatment Operator provides operations and maintenance of Water and Wastewater systems using safe operating procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Collects Water and Wastewater samples by following proper procedures.

  • Inspects and maintains sewage lift-stations and all connecting piping

  • Repairs and maintains PVC and HDPE exterior utility piping within best practices

  • Installs and maintains lift stations, piping heat trace and insulation within scope

  • Performs accurate manual calculations of flow rates, pumping times, chemical pump draw downs, etc as required.

  • Performs routine lab process tests to optimize both biological and other treatment processes throughout the plant

  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the business.

What does it take to work for Safety-Kleen?

  • High school degree or equivalent

  • A Licensed California Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator – Grade 2 or higher

  • Valid drivers license

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of mechanic and plumbing concepts

  • Basic computer skills with ability to use MS office software

  • Ability to work at remote sites away from home

  • An entry level position in a related industry such as water, wastewater, plumbing, mechanic, biology, and/or chemical.
