Aimbridge Hospitality Housekeeping Dispatcher in Los Angeles, California

Job Summary

The Housekeeping Dispatcher is responsible for administering and coordinating housekeeping functions in assigned sections and in the housekeeping office. Responsible lost and found entering work order calls from the hotel opening the system (creating housekeeping boards) and answering phones.

Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least 2 to 3 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field required.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • College course work in related field helpful.

  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.

  • Must work well in stressful high pressure situations.

  • Must be able to show initiative in job performance including anticipating what needs to be done before it becomes a necessity.

  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.

  • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.

  • Must be effective at listening to understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.

  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly service oriented manner.

  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards as required by scheduling AM/PM shifts which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming which include wearing the proper uniform and name tag when working.

  • Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

  • Oversee the organized closing of the floors at the end of the day

  • Ensure records of daily assignments are completed signed off on and turned into the Housekeeping Office on time.

  • Maintain key control system.

  • Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to the standards.

  • Be familiar with all Aimbridge Hospitality policies and House Rules.

  • Initiate work orders for repairs and maintenance for doors plumbing heating/air electrical equipment furniture carpets drapes etc. Follow through on each work order until completed.

  • Carry an active pager/radio to maintain contact with the Front Office and/or Engineering throughout the shift period if leaving the housekeeping area.

  • Oversee the daily assignment of housekeeping boards and guest calls ensuring each Room Attendant and House Attendant carries a work assignment. Report inconsistencies to housekeeping manager on duty.

  • Report on progress of all out-of-order rooms under the Housekeeping Department's supervision to the Guest Services and Housekeeping Manager on Duty daily.

  • Collect all keys and assignment sheets daily at the end of the shift.

  • Attend meetings as required by Management.

  • Long hours sometimes required.

  • Perform any other duties as requested by Management.
