MTC Instructor, Nurse Assistant in Los Angeles, California

Wage: $67,059 annually

Schedule – Full Time, 8hr shifts, Monday – Friday

What you will be doing: You’ll be responsible for the academic and career technical trade instruction per approved curricula. They will provide training and basic guidance and direction to help students achieve their academic and trade goals.

Essential functions:

  • Provide students with direction, instruction, and assistance in designated areas of instruction.

  • Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, training, personal problems, or study habits.

  • Coordinate with counselors and staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training and/ or instruction.

  • Develop and prepare lessons in accordance with approved curriculum guidelines, recommend curricula changes and supplemental materials.

  • Maintain organized, clean, and safe training environment.

  • Participate in student assessment panels, perform required documentation and evaluation using CIS (Center Information System) and other documentation systems.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Instructor: Valid California RN or LVN license that is active, current and in good standing. Must have a minimum 2 years of nursing experience (RN or LVN), one (1) year as a licensed nurse providing care and services to chronically ill or elderly patients in an acute care hospital, skilled nursing facility, intermediate care facility, home care hospice care or other long-term care setting. In addition, must have one of the following completion of a course in teaching adults; or completion of a 24-hour course in “Planning, Implementing and Evaluating Educational Programs in Nursing”; or completion of a course approved by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) or by an accredited educational institution; or a BRN continuing education course certificate used to meet this requirement must comply with the requirements found in 16 CCR, §§1450 et seq. Must be able to be approved by the California’s Department of Public Health as a Nurse Assistant Training Program (NATP) instructor.
