Lab Scientist Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for executing process development projects, process improvement, scale down, technology transfer, and support of manufacturing operations.

  • Performs experiments in small scale to assess process changes/improvements

  • Evaluates performance and suitability of new technologies and process changes by testing and reporting different critical parameters

  • Performs trials and experiments, participate into the design and scale-up of new technologies

  • Conducts routine bases analytical tests to evaluate and control product yield, purity and impurity profiles

  • Works closely with other Lab team members to support the upkeep, maintenance, and efficient utilization of the lab

  • Write SOPs, batch records, and develop research outlines for development projects

  • Utilize robust statistical analysis to draw appropriate conclusions from the data.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of protein purification techniques

  • Experience in protein process development

  • Knowledge of analytical tools for analysis of proteins

  • Experience with DOE (design of experiments), six sigma, and lean manufacturing a plus

  • Knowledge of GMPs

  • Good interpersonal skills, good verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to work in cold environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline with at least 2+ year’s relevant experience

  • Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs. and lift/carry up to 25 lbs

  • The position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility

  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning

  • Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body

  • No make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment

  • Will work in a cold, wet environment

  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends

  • 9 month assignment
