Description

Robet Half Technology is searching for a Network Cable Technician with experience in Single Mode Fiber, Inside Plant and Outside Plant (MMF), and Cooper, Cat-5e to support one of our higher ed clients with large-scale network implementations and upgrades.

This is a onsite position located in Los Angeles, CA 90089.

Requirements

Experience delivering reliable and quality network service within a higher education environment, supporting large-scale network implementations and upgrades. Demonstrated experience implementing newly designed large-scale network infrastructure. Experience with installation of infrastructure cabling to industry and university standards, working in confined spaces in accordance with all safety protocols. Proven experience with fiber/copper/network testing tools, splicing, and testing indoor and outdoor fiber and copper, and troubleshooting copper/fiber cables used in voice/data systems. Collaboration, communication, and technical documentation skills, with experience reading floor plans and site plans, and developing network flow diagrams. Experience working on data center, network, or other enterprise-wide technical consolidations. Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and Adobe programs.

Must haves:

• 4+ years of networking service in a higher ed environment

• Bachelors

• Experience with these specific fibers:

• Single Mode Fiber (SMF), Inside Plant and Outside Plant (MMF)

• Copper, Cat-5e, Cat 6

• BICSI Certification

• MS Outlook (outlook, word, Excel, Powerpoint, VISIO)

• Proficient in typing and documentation - > will be updating tickets

• Strong communicator, likes to be apart of a team
