Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Los Angeles, California

Description We are in the process of filling a position for a Payroll Specialist in the banking industry, based in Los Angeles, California. This role requires a detail-oriented individual to manage the payroll process within our organization. This includes tasks such as collecting and verifying timesheets, calculating wages, and ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing tax withholdings and deductions, addressing payroll-related queries and issues, and staying updated with any changes in tax and labor laws.

Responsibilities:

• Collecting and verifying timesheets to ensure accurate payment.

• Calculating wages and preparing payroll reports.

• Preparing checks or arranging direct deposits.

• Ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.

• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records.

• Managing tax withholdings and deductions.

• Addressing payroll-related queries and issues from employees.

• Staying updated with changes in tax and labor laws.

• Ensuring all payroll activities adhere to company policies and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Utilizing various software systems such as Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Ceridian, IBM AS/400, Kronos Timekeeping System, and Automated Payroll for efficient payroll management.

This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Experience in ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with Ceridian and IBM AS/400

• Knowledge of Kronos Timekeeping System

• Capability in 401k - RRSP Administration

• Understanding of About Time software

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Expertise in Automated Payroll

• Experience in ADP - Payroll

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Strong problem-solving abilities

• Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

• Proven ability to work as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail.
