UCLA Health Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner PICU/DOU- Limited Appt in Los Angeles, California
Description
The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). By using the SPs the NP is able to change treatment regimen after observing signs and symptoms of illness, reactions to treatment, general behavior and physical condition and determines if they are abnormal findings (Ca Nursing Practice Act, subsection(b) of Section 2725). The NP will provide and coordinate the care of patients, provide patient/family education, promote safe continuity of care. The NP also participates in interdisciplinary and clinical rounds, provides education and support, as well as makes appropriate referrals. Document services rendered
This a Limited Appointment Position for 6 months for a Pediatric Acute Nurse Practitioner. The NP will work 12 hour nights mainly in the PICU but occasionally cover day shift in the Peds DOU.
A Limited appt may convert to career
Salary range :$84.82-$121.13/hourly
Qualifications
2 year minimum experience in the PICU as a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care - Required
National Certification in as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care - Required
Successful completion of a Master's Degree or higher in an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a specialty in Pediatrics, Acute Care - Required
CA NP, NPF, and RN License -Required
DEA License with Schedule II - Required
BLS and PALS provider certifications from American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Required
