UCLA Health Principal Finance and Grants Manager in Los Angeles, California
Description
Under the general direction of the Department Chair, Chief Administrative Office (CAO), and other Department leaders and in concert with other research administrative staff, bear primary responsibility of all pre‐award administration for intra/extramurally funded research awards for Departmental Principal Investigators (PIs).
Salary Range: $78800.00 - $175000.00 Annually
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in
finance or related field, or equivalent experience.
High School Diploma
8 + years of research experience
1-3 years of complex research
administration.
Ability to establish and maintain
cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty,
external collaborators, and administration.
Ability to work as a member of the
team.
Advanced ability to set priorities and
complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines with frequent interruptions to
meet programmatic and financial needs.
Meticulous attention to detail in a
fast-paced, fluctuating, workload environment.
Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe
and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel.
Experience will all types of award
mechanisms, including grants, contracts, subcontracts, and cooperative
agreements.
Ability to interpret policy for
others.
Advance knowledge of effective grant
funding processes, procedures, and techniques
Preferred:
Interpersonal skills
to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner.
Exceptional
organizational skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files
effectively
Strong organizational skills, ability
to prioritize job functions and handle multiple tasks with multiple proposal
submission systems.
Experience preparing, managing, and
projecting budgets.
Mathematical skills
for the preparation of complex calculations and forecasts and to identify and
resolve complicated financial scenarios.
In-depth knowledge
of and experience working with a variety of external sponsors, federal and
state sponsors, private foundations, industry sponsors, etc.
In-depth knowledge
of various research administration policies and procedures, and contract and
grant funding agency guidelines.
