Netflix Senior Manager, Retail Business Development - Consumer Products in Los Angeles, California

The Role
Our growing global Consumer Products team brings our members' favorite stories to real life through products and experiences. The team is responsible for overseeing the business and creative execution across merchandise creation, product development, licensee relationships, publishing, marketing, as well as a global division focused on live experiences.
That’s where you come in: We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Retail Business Development who will be responsible for leading the retail relationships in the US and Canada with key mass (e.g. Walmart/Walmart Canada, Target), Ecom (e.g. Amazon) & specialty accounts (e.g. Spirit Halloween, FYE, etc.) across all categories for multiple Netflix IP. They will lead a high-performing team and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, with the overall goal of ensuring that Netflix consumer products are an extension of title brands and delivering on our promise to bring our fan’s favorite stories to life at retail.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and lead execution of the strategy for key US & Canada retail accounts aligned to business goals
Manage relationships with key retail partners, ensuring alignment on product launches, promotions and merchandising strategies across all categories (e.g. toys, collectibles, apparel, beauty, food & beverage, etc.); inclusive of leadership, buyers, marketers and other key cross-functional teams
Collaborate with a broad range of internal x-functional teams (e.g. Licensing, Product Development & Creative, Marketing, Merchandise Brand Strategy, etc.) to help define and develop retail go-to-market plans with an audience-first approach that leads to strong demand for products
Analyze and scale business opportunities, identifying key revenue drivers throughout the year
Track and analyze sales performance & KPIs to optimize business outcomes for future programs
Evaluate and negotiate retail deals that will help grow the footprint of Netflix IP
Be a champion of the opportunity, vision, pitch and message with regards to our retail strategy
Be agile and execute across a quickly evolving range of programs and titles
Be informed of the priorities and complexities of cross-functional teams (e.g. content, marketing, publicity, PR, social, brand partnerships, ads, etc.) and understand how consumer products benefit and support other teams’ work
Lead and mentor a team of high-performing retail specialists
What We Need From You:
12+ years of experience in building and owning the end-to-end retail function at a reputable entertainment or lifestyle brand or working in a merchandising function at a key retailer across multiple categories
Thorough understanding of the US retail landscape including strong sales experience & established relationships with key retail accounts (e.g. Walmart, Target)
Proven track record of scaling businesses, including established and nascent brands at retail
Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills
Strong record of team leadership and developing effective, high impact teams
Ability to influence multiple stakeholder groups and connect with diverse audiences
Excellent problem solving skills and attention to detail; entrepreneurial, persistent, and highly collaborative
Demonstrate an established ability to provide clear direction to achieve goals and develop strategic initiatives for retail programs
Strong project management & organizational skills
Experience in successfully navigating a fast-paced environment
Passionate and curious about retail, design and pop culture trends
A natural and deep affection for film & television
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $250,000 - $515,000.
