Description
The Department of Medicine, Statistical Core, is actively seeking a Senior Statistician. In this pivotal role, you'll harness computational tools to rigorously analyze and interpret biological and research data. Your responsibilities will encompass developing and refining algorithms, computational techniques, and statistical methodologies to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the design of new experiments and ensuring the seamless integration of end-user requirements into our database operations. Moreover, you'll lead the charge in maintaining our computational infrastructure, overseeing the efficient flow of samples and information for large-scale studies. Additionally, you'll provide invaluable support to researchers by offering web-based bioinformatics solutions and facilitating access to a diverse array of databases, both public and proprietary.
Annual range: $76,200-$158,800
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in biological science, computational / programming, or related area and /or equivalent experience / training
Working knowledge of bioinformatics methods and data structures
Working knowledge of applications programming and web development
Working knowledge of databases
Working project management skills
Working knowledge of modern biology and applicable field of research
Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner
Working knowledge of application and data security concepts
