Snap Inc. Senior Tax Analyst in Los Angeles, California

The Finance Team includes Accounting, Finance Business Partnership, Finance Operations, Financial Systems, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Tax, and Treasury teams. Together, the team partners with leadership to provide insights, information, and guidance to make strategic and operational decisions, inform investors about our business model and progress, and ensure the company is financially healthy and consistently meeting our reporting obligations.

We’re looking for a Senior Tax Analyst: Global Provision to join the Snap Finance team! Working from our Los Angeles office, you will play a key role in supporting Snap’s global tax accounting function, collaborating with other members of our Tax team as well as colleagues throughout the company.

What you’ll do:

  • Support the global quarterly and annual tax provision for the consolidated group in accordance with ASC 740, including reviewing the domestic and international provisions prepared by other teams, and preparing the tax reserve analysis, tax account rollforward and reconciliations, and footnote disclosures

  • Proactively manage provision calendars, deadlines, and audit requests, ensuring effective coordination with all teams involved in the provision process

  • Support tax process documentation and SOX controls

  • Analyze and effectively communicate the ASC 740 considerations of tax law changes and significant non-routine transactions

  • Prepare the US GAAP and IFRS global stock-based compensation tax calculations

  • Assist and support other tax functions with special projects as needed

  • Drive continuous optimization of tax provision processes and systems

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess a solid understanding of ASC 740 principles and have experience preparing tax provisions for multinationals

  • Have excellent analytical skills, ensure results are accurate and able to communicate findings in a precise and simple manner

  • Must be able to operate effectively and accurately in a deadline-driven fast-paced environment

  • Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple competing priorities and deadlines in a deadline-driven fast-paced informal work environment

  • Detail oriented with strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong communicator with desire and ability to build relationships

  • Great attention to detail without losing sight of the big picture

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent years of experience

  • 3+ years tax experience in public accounting firm, corporate tax department of multinational company, or combination thereof

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in taxation, CPA

  • Proficient in OneSource Tax Provision and Alteryx

  • Strong Excel skills

Compensation

In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These pay zones may be modified in the future.

Zone A (CA, WA, NYC) (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $114,000-$171,000 annually.

Zone B (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $108,000-$163,000 annually.

Zone C (https://careers.snap.com/us-payzones) :

The base salary range for this position is $97,000-$145,000 annually.

This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
