Overview

Methods+Mastery, a FleishmanHillard company, has an immediate opening for an energetic, self-starting Social Insights & Analytics Apprentice to join our team. Our new Social Insights & Analytics Apprentice will have the opportunity to work alongside Methods+Mastery’s analysts and strategists to analyze data and generate actionable insights and recommendations for our clients. Positions are available in Texas, California, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Missouri, Massachusetts, New York and Washington, D.C. This position offers the opportunity for a hybrid set-up with work from home and work from office flexibility.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $16.20-$22.00 per hour.

Hourly rate is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography.

The Social Insights & Analytics apprenticeship will last six months, with an opportunity for extension.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in daily social media listening, research and measurement for a variety of national and global clients.

  • Assist in developing social insights from primary and secondary market research, business analysis and competitive data.

  • Work closely under senior analysts’ guidance to recommend social and digital strategies and ensure implementation.

  • See the big picture: Connect the dots by digging deep to uncover trends and insights from data.

  • Conduct analysis through the use of social listening tools, audience intelligence tools and owned analytics tools.

  • Assist in developing client KPIs.

  • Stay current with the latest social measurement trends, as well as relevant industry trends.

Qualifications

Candidates must be a graduate and display an eagerness to expand their skills in social-focused communications, marketing, advertising and project management and be available to work full time Monday through Friday. Specifically, the candidate should also have some experience in the following areas:

Must-haves:

  • 1 year of experience gained in social media, planning, communications and/or analytics with experience writing up recaps, summaries, or trend reports

  • Analytically-minded: Must be willing to learn how to analyze and interpret social-driven data with a basic understanding of percentages and math

  • Passionate about news, culture, and social media trends

  • Excellent research, writing, and organization skills

  • Excellent communications and critical-thinking skills

  • Experience utilizing tools within the Microsoft and Google product suite, with particular emphasis on advanced comfort in Excel/Google Sheets

  • Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when managing large data sets

  • Ability to work easily in both large team environments and independently

  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn from our industry-leading team of counselors

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience executing social media listening programs and delivering reports that inform internal and client teams

  • Experience utilizing research or social media monitoring tools such as: Brandwatch, TalkWalker, Cision, Tubular, Sprinklr, Tagger, YouGov, GlobalWebIndex, Comscore, Statista, Forrester, etc.

  • Experience with data structuring and visualization tools such as: Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau, etc.

  • Experience with utilizing SQL to gather, aggregate, and analyze data

  • Experience with Python, R, STATA, MATLAB, or another programming language for data analysis, data visualizations, and modeling
