Overview
The Sr. Analyst, Strategic Planning will assist with planning our organization's strategic and long-term objectives and goals and creating content to effectively communicate this to a variety of audiences including our BOD, corporate functional and regional leadership. A primary responsibility of the position is to help develop and implement strategic projects using financial and data analysis with the objective of improving top line revenue and profitability. In addition, the role will assist with the annual long term planning process. This position will work in small teams with colleagues and international regions to build the strategies, capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver bottom-line results and ensure those results will be sustained. Additionally, the role will develop practical recommendations and contribute to team discussions on the implications of financial and data analysis as well as identifying implementation challenges. HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
Research and analyze business and investment opportunities and provide recommendations on opportunities for growth, improved profitability or solutions to key business challenges
Provide support on strategic projects from start to finish (i.e. generate a situation analysis, build a work plan, data collection, analyze the data to generate insights, and draft PowerPoint decks)
Develop models using internal and external data to generate insights and analyze scenarios for new initiatives and strategic projects
Research and provide detailed competitor analysis
Analyze global economic trends that impact the business
Occasionally develop valuation models for potential acquisition and investment opportunities
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:
Our team collaborates with cross-functional team members on global projects and develops communications with functional leadership to provide visibility and input with the executive team and Board of Directors
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
3 to 5 years’ experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Marketing, Strategic Planning or Finance at an international company or similar environment
Expert user of MS Excel and PowerPoint
Proactive and motivated self-starter, organized, and effective at managing time (able to meet multiple deadlines for deliverables)
Ability to effectively interact and communicate with individuals at all levels including senior executive management
Ability to communicate and interact across departments and internationally
Creating PowerPoint presentations that show a logical rendering of issues and solutions
Gathering and analyzing data from internal company sources (e.g. Business Intelligence) as well as external sources
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Finance or Engineering or similar degree
Alternatively, preferred BA with MBA
