Job Title: Sr. Manager Retail Business Development - Channel Sales

Pay:120,000-$130,000Job Description

We are looking for a Manager of Retail Business Development in Channel Sales to build and manage relationships, handle requests, and keep key retailers informed on marketing initiatives and business opportunities. This role will involve close collaboration with internal teams such as Licensing, Creative, and Marketing, and will require the creation and management of various team documents and tracking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage relationships with key retailers.

  • Field requests and keep key retailers informed on marketing initiatives and business opportunities.

  • Provide updates to internal teams on an ongoing basis.

  • Create and lead team documents, calendars, placement grids, and program tracking documents.

  • Route retail marketing elements for internal approval.

  • Work with marketing for approval and promotion of retail marketing elements, including in-store and online promotions.

  • Follow-up with retailers and business partners on various requests, including business updates, quarterly forecasts, and program initiatives.

  • Compile and update retail/licensee lists for internal reference.

  • Provide administrative support to Head of Retail Business Development, including sales prospecting and preparation of sales materials.

  • Work with Head of Retail, Licensing partners, and retailers to pitch and sell cross-category retail programs.

  • Build targeted presentations to pitch to retailers and provide business updates.

  • Contribute to new business development recruitment through ideation and market analysis.

  • Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, trade shows, and retail activations.

  • Support Retail Business Development by analyzing and interpreting sales data and recommending changes to sales techniques or promotional efforts.

  • Maintain constant, timely, and consistent communication with licensees.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive franchises, and economic conditions, and communicate findings to the internal team.

  • Visit stores monthly and report observations, opportunities, and competitive landscape.

  • Attend trade shows and social industry functions as applicable.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BA in Business Administration, Marketing, International Business, or related field preferred

  • 5+ years experience in Consumer Products, corporate retail, and/or channel sales

  • Proficient in Excel, MS-Office, PowerPoint/Keynote, Outlook

  • Strong organization and prioritization skills

  • Attention to detail and analytical skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Solution-minded and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to establish priorities and work independently

  • Team player with flexibility and ability to take direction

Work Environment

The role requires working 2 days onsite at the US headquarters in Torrance with a Monday to Friday schedule starting at 9am. The candidate must be willing to travel for in-person meetings, with travel to Walmart HQ in Arkansas and Target in Minneapolis being common.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/hr.

Position is eligible for Sanrio's bonus program which consists of three bonus payouts throughout. During the past few years, no one has received less than 10% and some have received as high as 20-25%
