SR. Network/Infrastructure Project Manager

SKILLS REQUIRED

• 8+ years of related experience in Project Management – strong hand on (in the weeds) project management, lead project team through entire project lifecycle with rigor. Also, experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

• Has led IT projects >$500k – (willing to consider lower budget levels)

• Knows the concepts of IT infrastructure / networking. Will work closely with internal Sr. Network Engineers who are expecting the Sr. PM will have some networking knowledge (know what Servers and Routers are, and know what a switch and an IP connection is). Note: we are still considering PM’s that are more Apps focused, as long as they have the general concepts of networking / infrastructure.

• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills in setting and managing stakeholder expectations. Extremely effective in communicating complex technical matters in business terms. This person needs to have solid confidence and leadership skills and be an excellent communicator. Good ability to speak up and run a meeting with both confidence and humility

• Business analysis skills with the ability to lead stakeholders in developing solutions to complex IT and business problems

• Experience managing 3rd party vendors as part of the project team

• Experience with traditional project management tools (e.g. MS Project, etc.)

JOB DUTIES

• End-to-end delivery of projects that successfully meet business objectives – Scope, budget, timeline

• Manage and lead all aspects of project planning and execution to meet the project objectives and deliver value. This includes, but is not limited to, clearly defining scope and acceptance criteria, schedule development/tracking, resource planning, budget planning/reporting, risk/issue management, stakeholder management, communications and training.

• Lead and motivate project teams consisting of both internal and external resources

• Manage concurrent projects with matrixed team members across a broad cross-section of stakeholders

• Responsible for coordination of matrixed project team members and tasks, quality of project deliverables, developing presentations plus communications with team members and stakeholders

• Works closely with business stakeholders to meet client expectations and deliver maximum value to the business. Lead discussions with business stakeholders to scope, estimate and prioritize solutions that deliver business value. Develop and present business cases to secure project funding

• Proactively engage IT resource managers, application/system owners and multiple stakeholders to ensure projects are adequately resourced

• Manages third party vendors to ensure they deliver the value and services as contracted

• Strong background in IT project delivery in both applications and infrastructure/cloud

• Provide leadership and inspiration to project team members

OVERVIEW / BIG PICTURE

• The projects consist of building/constructing energy generation sites (solar farms, wind farms, natural gas, hydrocarbons). A part of that construction is obviously setting up the network connection to those sites (also including building access controls, monitoring technology – sometimes referred to as IoT). Interconnecting the sites to the network, IT technology, also A/V equipment, etc.

• The IT department designs and installs the infrastructure to monitor the generation sites remotely. This could include cabling infrastructure, bringing fiber to the location, field equipment, network equipment, back SCADA devices, etc.

• Some other smaller projects could include minor upgrades at various existing facilities, upgrading network equipment, AV equipment, Internet connections, and other technology related upgrades required to get all the different sites on the same technology configuration.
