UCLA Health Staff Research Associate II in Los Angeles, California
Description
The Department of Medicine is looking to hire a motivated Staff Research Associate II to join our team. In this role, you will investigate how the autonomic nervous system initiates and sustains arrhythmias, with a focus on the cardiac nervous system's role in heart disease. The Division's research involves collecting electrophysiologic and neural data in both human and animal models of cardiovascular disease. In this position, there will be focus on animal studies involving surgical dissection, hemodynamic and electrical activity recordings, and tissue analysis. Your responsibilities will include lab maintenance, coordination with other departments, and data analysis from both preclinical and clinical research.
Hourly range: $28.88-$46.46
Qualifications
Required:
Skills to perform technical procedures in a timely and accurate manner
Demonstrated ability to work well with others
Ability to work on routine assignments with minimal supervision
BS degree in biochemistry, physiology, biology or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to keep accurate records
Skills in large animal handling and surgical procedures
Skills in preparing buffers, solutions and reagents
Skills in basic computer use, Microsoft excel, office, powerpoint
Skill to perform surgical procedures in a lab setting on animals-porcine
Preferred:
- Previous experience as a Vet tech
