VCA Animal Hospitals Veterinary Specialty Anesthesia Technician in Los Angeles, California
VCA Animal Specialty Group is a busy 24 hour emergency and specialty hospital in Los Angeles. We're located minutes from Downtown, LA!
We’re in search of highly experienced veterinary technicians or VAs with strong skills and knowledge in specialty anesthesia for advanced surgeries and procedures.
Compensation : $ 24 - $ 34 / hr.
Requirements for this position:
Proficient in specialty anesthesia.
Valid RVT or VTS license or VTNE eligible preferred
Must possess strong skills and knowledge of the following:
IVC placement
Venipuncture and U/S guided cystos
Radiographs (spinal, thorax, abdomen, extremities, etc.)
Anesthesia induction, monitoring and recovery for stable and critical
Anesthesia for advanced imaging (MRIs & CTs)
Knowledge of ventilators
Patient treatments
Calculating and preparing medications for administration (including boluses, CRIs, and blood transfusions)
Preparation and assisting for minor and major surgeries
Process in-house and outside labs
Restrain for exams and diagnostics
Applicants must also be/have:
Able to work 10 hour shifts 4 days/week.
A valid RVT license
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting
Exceptional communication and multi-tasking skills
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Able to provide compassionate client service and patient care
