Job DescriptionThe Team Leader@365 will assist the Store Team Leader & Associate Store Team Leader in providing leadership and supervision of the entire store. A large part of the Team Leader role includes leading, mentoring, and developing Floor Leads and Team Members to achieve and surpass all store goals. As a Team Leader you will need to be open and ready for change.Responsibilities
Responsible for leadership and coordinating the efforts across all areas of the store.
Operate the store in an efficient and profitable manner to achieve all sales, labor, budgeted expense targets and contribution goals while maximizing bottom line. Leverage store growth to improve store profitability.
Analyze product ordering, transfers, rotation, waste and spoilage to maximize efficiencies and profitability.
Provide accurate, complete information in management reports.
Run store shifts as scheduled, including Manager on Duty for opening, mid and close shifts.
Maintain accurate retail pricing and proper signage throughout the store.
Interview, select, train, develop and counsel Team Members in a manner, which builds and sustains a high performing team and minimizes turnover. Make hiring and termination decisions with guidance of Store Leadership.
Consistently communicate and model 365 by Whole Foods vision and goals.
Ensure that all Team Members are following 365 programs, including monitoring progress, and processing all required paperwork.
Establish and maintain a positive work environment, which sustains an exceptionally high level of morale.
Develop Floor Leads as potential Team Leaders and establish strong bench strength of the Team Member base.
Provide timely, thorough and thoughtful job dialogues and give consistent feedback.
Through and complete documentation of Team Member discipline and counseling activities when necessary.
Maintain and deliver exceptional customer service, set the benchmark for Team Members.
Lead with a culture of development and learning. Continually increase the product knowledge level of you and your team, including on new products and promotions.
Sustain an excellent level of knowledge/awareness of relevant competitors and industry trends.
Model and cultivate effective cross-store communication, including conducting effective store huddles.
Establish and maintain collaborative and productive working relationships with Store Leadership, Floor Leads, Team Members and all support partners.
Create and review schedules and constantly look for productivity improvements.
Order store equipment and supplies in a timely manner.
Ensure that product is cross-merchandised throughout the store.
Coordinate, supervise and report physical inventory.
Ensure store policies and procedures are followed per the Say-So.
Perform all duties of a Floor Lead and Team Member.
Maintain store security and ensure that opening and closing procedures are followed.
Maintain and support overall store cleanliness and maintenance.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory rules and standards, including: OSHA, Department of Labor, Health and Sanitation, FDA, Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Follow established food safety, organics, and cleaning and maintenance guidelines and procedures. Resolve all hazards or violations immediately.
Attend all store meetings as assigned by Leadership.
Work a variety of shifts including mornings, nights, weekends and holidays.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Two years of relevant experience as a Team Leader or equivalent experience
Extensive and proven successful background in retail, grocery retail preferred
Has a proven record of performing with and extremely high level of retail standards and execution including: mentoring, communication, listening skills, TM development and learning, safe work environment, and adherence with established policies.
Proven record of successfully building and developing teams with a strong culture and high morale
Proactive problem-solver with excellent follow-through and listening skills. Must be self-motivated and solution-oriented
Clear and effective communication style, both written and verbal including in correspondences, customer service and team member interactions
Thorough knowledge of products throughout the store or the ability to learn them quickly
A vision and passion to set and maintain top retail standards
Strong leadership, financial expertise and ability to adhere to budgets
A high energy, collaborative and hands on working style
Must be able to engage, inspire and motivate others.
Impeccable organizational skills with a keen attention to detail
Ability to handle a wide variety of customer service situations effectively
Self-motivated and efficient with a strong ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task
Ability to complete tasks in a through and timely manner
Skilled in working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a strong ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and maintain priorities and a high level of performance

Basic computer and accounting skills, with experience using the entire Microsoft Office Suite
Desire to become an Associate Store Team Leader
Possession of a current Serv-Safe certificate is highly recommended
Proper use of, which may include but not limited to, knives, personal protective equipment, forklift, pallet jacks, hand trucks, six wheel carts, baler (must be 18 years of age or older) and all other equipment used during preparation and clean up within department and store
Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the store, including morning, nights, weekends and holidays as required
Able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

The wage range for this position is $23.60 - $42.50 Hourly, commensurate with experience. Whole Foods Market offers “Whole Benefits".
