Clean Earth of New York is permitted to receive and process petroleum and non-petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soil, sediment, and media. This state-of-the-art low temperature thermal desorption facility serves the New York, Vermont, Connecticut, and Massachusetts region.

We are currently seeking individuals to work at our Fort Edward, NY treatment facility. Duties will include handling the processing, treatment, and beneficial reuse of soils and media. This may include but is not limited to:

Responsibilities:

  • Operates construction or power equipment, such as mechanized broom, Skid Steer, High Reach (man lift), and Water Truck.

  • General equipment maintenance (greasing, checking oil, refilling fluids, and fueling equipment), as necessary.

  • General compliance and grounds keeping tasks (daily soil pile uncovering/recovering, weed whacking, site cleanup, silt sack replacements, etc.)

  • Sort through soil and rocks to remove debris from conveyors and/or by hand.

  • Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.

  • Cleaning materials and removal of soil and debris from various equipment.

  • Works with and assists other crew members with soil screeners and rock crushing.

  • Able to safely use a variety of tools such as hand tools, grinders, saws, pressure washers, etc.

  • Assist other crew members and operators as necessary.

This position requires the ability to work in outdoor conditions during all seasons and in various types of weather.

Starting pay is $20.00/hr

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required; experience in operating small and heavy equipment preferred

  • Prior experience on processing and/or constructions sites is preferred/helpful

  • Some familiarity with welding, cutting, plumbing, and electrical is preferred/helpful

  • High School Diploma preferred, not required
