This is a Job Description for a an Accounting Associate in Louisville, Kentucky.

Summary: The Accounting Associate processes monthly billings to federal and state agencies. This position works closely with Center staff, Regional Vice Presidents, and Federal agency personnel to complete billings. In addition, the Associate reconciles assigned general ledger accounts, posts journal entries, processes accounts receivable aging reviews and provides general accounting support for the Finance Department and other Corporate Office functions.

Duties & Responsibilities: []{#Hlk142289191}[]{#Hlk142304825}Assists with federal and state billings. Updates contract pricing in multiple locations. Reconciles all bank accounts. Payroll reconciliations. Small business reporting. Corporate deposits. Back-up for Accounts Payable. Back-up for Receptionist. Performs other finance department support duties assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications: Education and/or Experience: Requires an Associates (2 year) degree in accounting or a closely related field or a minimum of two years general billing/accounts payable experience. The equivalent combination of education, skills, training and experience may be considered. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as detailed safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Can create/write routine reports and correspondence with minimal supervisory oversight; Can speak appropriately and effectively and respond to routine questions from groups of members, co-workers, general public or leadership/supervisors. Math Skills: Ability to perform and understand basic math calculations including adding, subtracting, dividing and multiplying whole and decimal numbers using a calculator and/or excel spreadsheet. Computer Skills/Office Equipment: Position requires proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Outlook, Excel and Word. Prefer experience with SharePoint and database software. Experience with NAV Accounting Software a plus. Required Licenses and Certifications: Position requires possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; frequently required to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to stand, or walk. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read emails and written documents or data in hard copy or on computer monitors.
