University of Louisville Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in related field and 6 (six) - 8 (eight) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 10 (Salaried)Position Description:The Assistant Athletic Director (Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services) is responsible for providing academic oversight for the Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball Programs. This position will provide leadership for assigned academic team(s) and ensure a student-centered approach to learning is maintained. The Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Services is responsible for providing comprehensive academic support, counseling, guidance services, and programming to student-athletes while promoting their self-responsibility, personal growth, and academic development. Additionally, this position oversees the business operations for Academic Services/TACE and directly supervises full-time staff members, graduate assistant(s), intern(s), and student worker(s) as assigned.JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvide guidance to student-athletes in course selection, class scheduling and major declaration; Maintain student program plans for each student-athlete based on their major/minor selection; Assess the academic needs of assigned student-athletes to identify educational strategies to provide individualized and holistic support services (e.g., assign tutors, transcript evaluation, and examination of student accounts, etc.)Ensure academic progress of student-athletes is regularly communicated, verbally and in writing to students, coaches, and Senior Associate AD/Student Services and Diversity.Academic oversight for the Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball Programs and other sport programs as assigned.Coordinate semester and annual academic summary reports for Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball.Directly supervise assigned full-time employees, graduate assistant(s), and intern(s) and provide leadership for assigned academic team(s) to ensure a student-centered approach to learning is maintained.Maintain records of student athletes academic progress and performance and provide regular reporting to administrators and coaches; monitor National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), and institutional requirements for satisfactory progress, degree completion percentages, and grade point averages.Oversee the business operations for Academic Services/TACE including budget, finance, accounting, travel, accounts payable, accounts receivable, procurement card, and reporting; serve as the liaison between the department and the Athletic Business Office for all business matters.Actively communicate and collaborate with athletic department and other members of the University community to offer a broad range of support to current and former student-athletes.Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays and travel as required.Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Athletic Director for Student Services and Diversity.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSMaster's DegreeAbility to work in a University environment with emphasis on working with a diverse student population.Excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills.Prior experience at Division I Institution that sponsors intercollegiate.The Athletic Department is committed to creating equitable and inclusive campus environments that accelerate the success of the full range of our students and employees.
