Description
We are actively seeking an Assistant Controller for a well-established company in Louisville, Kentucky. As a key member of the finance department, the Assistant Controller will report directly to the Controller/CFO and play a crucial role in day-to-day accounting, financial planning, reporting, and controlling activities. The ideal candidate would have excellent communication, collaboration, and time management skills, be self-motivated to take on more responsibility, have 7+ years of accounting experience, and a BA degree in accounting. Responsibilities:
Prepare and review financial statements according to GAAP standards
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasting.
Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results.
Work closely with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
Conduct financial analysis and present findings to the executive leaders.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Assist Controller with regulatory reporting and tax filings.
Oversee month-end close procedures, ensuring timely completion
Execute account reconciliations to maintain financial integrity
Prepare and submit journal entries in line with company policy
Maintain and manage accounts payable to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
Oversee accounts receivable, ensuring all payments are accounted for and properly posted
Handle fixed assets and associated depreciation schedules to ensure accurate financial records
Perform associated tasks with accrual accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA is preferred.
7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a real estate environment.
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including GAAP.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
