Stock Yards Bank & Trust BSA & Fraud Prevention Intern in Louisville, Kentucky

As a BSA & Fraud Prevention Intern, your day will be filled with opportunities to gain hands-on experience in preventing financial crimes, monitoring suspicious activities, and supporting compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in compliance, fraud prevention, and the banking industry.ResponsibilitiesDaily responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:Collaborate with compliance officers to ensure adherence to federal and state regulations related to BSA, AML, and fraudAssist in preparing reports for regulatory agencies and internal stakeholdersSupport Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processesAssist in monitoring transactions to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulationsHelp identify, research, and report suspicious activities through formal investigationsWork with the fraud prevention team to analyze transactional patterns and detect potential fraudulent activitiesSupport investigations into fraud cases and prepare documentation for reportingStay up-to-date on regulatory changes and industry best practices in fraud prevention and complianceSuggest improvements to existing BSA/AML and fraud prevention processes using data-driven insightsJob RequirementsThe successful candidate will have the following qualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Criminal Justice, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related fieldStrong analytical and critical-thinking skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies in dataProficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL, Python, or similar)Strong communication and documentation skillsAbility to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretionKnowledge of BSA/AML regulations, fraud prevention techniques, or financial crime investigation is a plus (preferred)Familiarity with compliance software and tools is advantageous (preferred)Physical requirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
