Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The ideal candidate will have experience in cherry picking, reach truck, or forklift operations, though training is available. Warehouse experience is beneficial. Candidates must be willing to train on an order picker (cherry picker) and should not have a fear of heights. Initial tasks may include hand picking, packing, or working in the shipping area. Once trained, responsibilities will include operating a cherry picker and picking products for shipping. Candidates must meet the picking rates required by Tennant.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 90 Day(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Louisville, Kentucky.

Work Environment

Tennant is a manufacturer of large cleaning/sweeping machines, equipment, and parts. The Louisville facility is a part distribution center only. The environment is not climate-controlled, so it can be hot in the summer and cool in the winter. Extra breaks, water, and popsicles are provided if the temperature exceeds 97 degrees. While the pace is not extremely fast, meeting picking/packing goals is expected. Candidates must be willing to work overtime each day if needed. Acceptable attire includes shorts and tank tops. Shift schedules are as follows: 1st Shifts start at 7am, 8am, and 10am. The 2nd shift starts at 1:30 PM and ends at 10 PM. Break times are structured throughout each shift. Trainers wear light blue shirts, and leads wear dark blue shirts (permanent employees).
