Vogt Power International Project Manager in Louisville, Kentucky

Responsible for managing global engineering contracts to design, fabricate, and erect Heat Recovery Steam Generators (“HRSGs”) of varying scope and complexity. Perform engineering duties related to planning and designing Vogt’s HRSGs, and oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and/or repair of the same. Ensure Vogt’s HRSGs are installed and functioning according to project and customer specifications. Duties: Plan and design Vogt’s HRSG’s. Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, and/or repair on assigned HRSG projects to ensure that these complex mechanical products are installed and functioning according to specifications. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and/or computer-generated reports related to assigned HRSG projects. Confer with other engineers to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and/or provide technical information related to the HRSGs. Provide feedback to design engineers on customer problems or needs. Investigate HRSG failures or difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and recommend remedial actions. Provide technical customer service. Act as primary liaison with the customer to develop and maintain a good working relationship during contract execution. Study industrial processes to maximize the efficiency of equipment applications, including equipment placement, related to the HRSGs. Establish and coordinate the maintenance or safety procedures, service schedule, or supply of materials required to maintain HRSGs in the prescribed condition. Develop supplier special terms & conditions as needed, and generate requisitions for engineered equipment. Evaluate and select suppliers and subcontractors for major materials, engineered equipment and fabrication services in conjunction with company’s VPI supply management and global supply management. Coordinate development of the Erection manuals per applicable company ISO procedures. Manage all aspects of capital and aftermarket HSRG engineering contracts and contract change orders. Generate monthly project status reports. Coordinate and oversee the development and maintenance of the overall project schedule. Perform and/or assist in studies for economic/technical optimization of our products within the confines of assigned project contracts. Develop overall project quality plan and assure compliance during execution of the project. Identify and manage all project risks. Remain accountable for the complete project budget, forecast, and monthly cash flow reports for assigned HSRG projects. Also accountable for all project related correspondence. Approve all project related requisitions and expenditures. Responsible for coordinating HSRG shipping through VPI and BPI Logistics including utilizing customer systems as well as resolving shipping issues such as overages, shortages and damage reports. Responsible for complete project closeout and handoff to Warranty. Coordinate all project related field activities; resolution and final disposition of NCR’s and site RFI’s. Support buyers and subcontract managers in resolution of SDR’s. Organize and facilitate weekly project team meetings and the issuance of the minutes. Share information with rest of project team. Provide coaching and mentoring to project team members to develop a well-functioning team environment. Participate on or manage internal teams as assigned for process/continuous improvement. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant Engineering discipline, plus 5 years of related experience. Total experience must include 3 years with the following: managing execution of complex, large ($2 million or greater) projects as a manager or engineer, with accountability for results; general engineering principles as they apply to industrial equipment; and commercial contracts, cost controlling, and project scheduling.
