Derby City Gaming Regional Marketing Specialist in Louisville, Kentucky

At Derby City Gaming Downtown, gaming enthusiasts can enjoy nearly 500 of the most popular games, Fascinator Wine Bar and Trophy Bourbon & Cigars Bar, sports bar with live entertainment most weekends and a Kentucky Derby Gift Shop.

The Marketing Specialist supports the combined marketing efforts for both Derby City Gaming & Hotel and Derby City Gaming Downtown. This role plays a crucial part in executing advertising, promotions, database marketing campaigns, and brand initiatives, ensuring consistent and effective communication across all channels.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager, Regional Senior Director of Marketing, Corporate Director of Marketing, and internal teams to help execute the marketing plan for both properties.

  • Assist in the development and execution of advertising, database promotional, and collateral campaigns, ensuring they align with overall brand strategies.

  • Review and assist in the approval of marketing materials, including direct mail, email, social media, and on-property signage, to ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment.

  • Coordinate on-site filming and photography for advertising needs, ensuring all visual content meets brand standards.

  • Support the tracking and management of the marketing budget, generating purchase requisitions, and working with the finance department to ensure timely payment of vendors.

  • Assist with vendor billing and maintain accurate records of advertising and promotional expenditures.

  • Help coordinate on-site events, including decor and catering, ensuring they align with the marketing goals of both properties.

  • Provide support during events to ensure successful execution and alignment with overall marketing strategies.

  • Contribute to the development of strategic marketing initiatives aimed at growing market share for both properties.

  • Assist in analyzing and reporting on the success of marketing campaigns, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support, including maintaining status reports, coordinating agency communication, and assisting in the analysis of marketing efforts.

  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and interact with internal departments.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends & holidays.

  • Ability to be on your feet or stand for long periods of time.

  • Understand and represent Derby City Gaming’s image and reputation both at work and at external functions.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Lift up to 30lbs.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or similar OR two years of experience in the field preferred.

  • Preferred experience in creating and coordinating special events and/or promotions.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn Player Tracking / Marketing systems.

  • Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.

This position will work at either Poplar Level or Downtown Location based on business needs.
