University of Louisville Research Assistant II in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Associate’s degree in a related field and one (1) or more years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Grade 2 (Hourly)Position Description:The Department of Microbiology and Immunology has an opening for a Research Assistant II.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct experiments and laboratory analysis following clearly defined procedures.Perform a variety of biomedical assays according to established protocols.Synthesize research information and prepare statistical summaries. Perform animal-related work: maintaining animal colonies, genotyping, conducting animal experiments according to the established protocols (e.g., ethanol feeding, gavaging, IP injections), and euthanasia, blood and tissue collection. Maintain lab records, lab inventory and supplies. Aid in the maintenance and daily operation of the laboratory.Preparing laboratory reagents, chemicals, atocks, cultures and cell lines. Maintain lab notebook documenting experiments and results performed.
