University of Louisville Research Assistant II in Louisville, Kentucky

Minimum Requirements:Associate’s degree in a related field and 2 years of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.Position Description:Grant Funded Position. Continued employment contingent on grant renewals. The Research Assistant II position in the Brown Cancer Center at the University of Louisville will prepare and perform experiments, and assist other personnel in a research laboratory. Duties include conducting experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and ensuring the smooth operation of lab activities. This position will operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment, order laboratory reagents, and assist with maintaining regulatory documents. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as part of a team. Candidates should have effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications:Experience with rodent models and molecular biology techniques Proficient in the following techniques: manipulation and care of experimental animals (mice), polymerase chain reaction assays (PCR), sterile technique and tissue culture of mammalian cell-lines and primary cells, gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting, flow cytometry, and ELISA.
