Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager - Corporate to be part of our team based in LOUISVILLE, Kentucky. The chosen candidate will be tasked with handling all tax-related matters, including tax compliance, income tax provision, indirect taxes, and special projects. Moreover, the role involves analyzing and reviewing accounting activities and transactions for appropriate tax treatment, responding to ad hoc queries from the team, and managing both external tax providers and the Indirect Tax Specialist.
Responsibilities:
• Handle federal and state income tax compliance by collecting data and coordinating with an accounting firm for the preparation of tax returns.
• Perform tax account roll forwards and reconciliations.
• Prepare quarterly and year-end income tax provision and disclosures in accordance with ASC 740, including documentation and memos.
• Oversee and review sales and use tax filings.
• Manage and review excise tax filings.
• Liaise with the external auditor regarding the tax provision for the financial statement audit.
• Develop and maintain tax workpapers, with a focus on improving processes and efficiency.
• Research and document tax technical issues.
• Monitor changes in tax law and assess their impact on the company.
• Handle tax examinations.
• Maintain a strong SOX control environment and ensure high quality external audit workpapers.
• Collaborate closely with accounting, financial reporting, and FP& A staff.
• Manage and review non-income tax filings such as franchise and property tax.
Requirements
• Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of Corporate Taxation.
• Proficiency in Corporate Tax Return is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in Corporate Tax Compliance is required.
• Experience in managing or working within a Corporate Tax Department is necessary. Manufacturing or Distribution preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) is crucial.
• Familiarity with ASC 740 is a key requirement.
• Experience in handling Annual Income Tax Provision is necessary.
• Expertise in Corporate Income Tax is essential.
