UL, LLC Manager Field HR Business Partner in Lowell, Arkansas

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager Field HR Business Partner, who will lead an HR team and serve as primary HR partner for one or more regional sites spanning across multiple business units, divisions or functions. The selected candidate will acquire a broad understanding of local business divisions, support people strategies, enable talent development, and improve retention at the local level. They will also manage employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compensation, and employee career development issues that require a detailed knowledge of the fundamental and advanced concepts and practices in Human Resources. Finally, they will be responsible for working with HR colleagues and local business leaders to provide responsive approaches and drive adoption of HR initiatives.

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Manages the performance of an HR team by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, and providing career guidance, feedback and ongoing development.

  • Executes enterprise and/or business unit people strategies in collaboration with relevant HR functions and drives adoption of both business and HR initiatives locally. Partners with local leaders to provide both strategic and operational support for business change, identify challenges and recommend solutions.

  • Collaborates with leaders to drive One HR Culture, Diversity & Inclusion, employee engagement and retention strategies locally. Partners with Regional and Site Leaders and work collaboratively with colleagues to improve the employee experience locally and/or regionally.

  • Coaches and guides local and regional leaders and provide responsive approaches to complex employee relations matters.

  • Using broad local employment law knowledge, identifies market conditions and trends impacting talent attraction and retention and advises global/corporate HR partners on people and business implications. Connects local trends to global impacts and advises on appropriate actions to support enterprise goals.

  • Executes people processes (including but not limited to local onboarding, salary planning, talent development and performance and exit management) leveraging workforce analytics and insights.

  • Provides guidance and interpretation of HR policies, procedures and processes to ensure local adherence and identifies areas of risk. Supports audit, compliance and other HR related programs locally.

  • Identifies opportunities for developing new or revised human resources policies and procedures.

  • Develops and implements programs using knowledge of organizational goals and objectives.

  • Supports the development and execution of key HR projects.

  • Runs HR like a business, managing budget and resource allocation.

  • Reads and follows the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follows all physical and digital security practices.

  • Performs other duties as directed.

What makes you a good fit:

  • University Degree in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration or a related discipline, plus generally ten years of professional level Human Resources experience. Previous experience as a HR Business Partner required. Prior HR people Management experience preferred.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative client service skills with an ability to influence and manage key relationships. Provides creative solutions with demonstrated effectiveness at both the strategic and tactical levels. Experience managing a sizable internal customer base.

  • Exhibits a proactive, highly adaptable, levelheaded management approach.

  • Detailed knowledge of labor law as well as market knowledge with respect to employee relations, recruitment, compensation, and performance management.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with commonly used business and HR software applications.

  • In-depth technical HR expertise in several of the following areas: Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition, Rewards, Talent Management and organizational change.

  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use and interpret data to both guide and validate decisions. Able to build a data story which compels the business to take action.

  • Results oriented and able to quickly grasp the “big picture”, using insights from business leaders, global HR colleagues and HR capability centers to provide recommendations to the business on the appropriate actions to take.

  • Project management experience with the ability to lead and execute on key HR projects.
