DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Juvenile Justice Specialist Supervisor, you will actively supervise employees who provide guidance, instruction, treatment, and specialized services to court-adjudicated youth in a secure or restricted setting. We are committed to providing the training you need to excel in your role. Our team works closely to offer ongoing guidance and updates so you will have all the support you need for a fulfilling career. In this role, you will bring your leadership skills and passion to empower and support staff, ensuring the timely completion of reports and actively participating in the physical care, custody, and supervision of the youths' daily activities. Your work will assist professional staff in implementing treatment plans. It will involve reporting on the youths' progress and engaging in meaningful communication to address their thoughts, actions, and personal challenges. You will also take on responsibilities to uphold order and intervene with disruptive, emotionally distressed, and suicidal youth, employing suitable physical restraint techniques when necessary. Through strong leadership and compassionate guidance, you will help court-adjudicated youth become more responsible and contributing citizens in their communities.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment; 40 hour work week Work shifts will vary. Loysville Youth Development Center is a 24/7/365 operating facility. You will work 8-hour shifts with no duty-free lunch. Typical shift hours are 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, and 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM. You will work 5 days on and have 2 days off. You will be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned. Overtime as needed, voluntary and possible mandatory May change based on operational needs. Travel as needed You must be willing to accept employment at Loysville Youth Development Center and commute to this location in Loysville, Perry County. FREE PARKING! Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $60,506 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Three years of experience in the care, custody, activities, or personal guidance of adolescents or adults in a human services or social services program, law enforcement or correctional program, or an educational, community, or military organization; or One year of experience as a Juvenile Justice Specialist (commonwealth title); or One year of experience in the care, custody, activities, or personal guidance of adolescents or adults in a human services or social services program, law enforcement or correctional program, or an educational, community, or military organization; and an associate's degree in social sciences, counseling, restorative justice, juvenile justice, child development, behavioral sciences, human services, criminal justice, education, or a closely related field; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements: You must be at least 21 years old at the time of application.

Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements: A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law. Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
