Position Description:

Performs support and coordinative work in direct support of an administrative team of a specific administrative office or department. Coordinates and assists with functions such as planning, researching, budgeting and program implementation and evaluation. Performs responsible and complex office support duties, thus relieving the administrator of these duties. Work is performed under administrative supervision.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Serve as first point of contact for the ECE Main Office and Department, including:

  • Answer and direct phone calls for main office

  • Assist faculty, staff, and students

  • Greet and direct visitors

  • Document and sign for all incoming packages

  • Assist Chairman:

  • Primary contact for chairman's calendar for scheduling meetings and events

  • Complete travel preapprovals and expense reports in Chrome River to include reserving hotels, flights, and rental cars for Chairman

  • Redirect traffic away from chair's office as needed

  • Schedule, attend and keep minutes for all faculty meetings

  • Coordinate with ABET and SACSCOC committees to compile reports and data for evaluations

  • Manage and direct marketing efforts to include department newsletters, fliers and website

  • Coordinate with IAB Chairperson for biannual meetings to include conference room scheduling, on-campus parking reservation, and ECE faculty, staff, and student meetings

  • Complete Procurement processes to include faculty, staff, and student travel preapprovals and expense reports and assist other staff with monthly p-card reconciliations

  • Primary contact for ECE and WCOE student organizations to include purchase orders and p-card use

  • Other duties as assigned by chairman
