Position Description:

Manages personnel and budgetary matters for a department or college. Exercises discretion and independent judgment to oversee the activities of staff and the financial processes to ensure fiscal responsibility of department/college. Ensures staff and faculty have the resources to complete their work. Usually serves as a hiring manager and employee service coordinator.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Manage daily administrative operations, including schedules and resource allocation.

  • Manages travel and schedules meetings for the Institute Director.

  • Demonstrate financial stewardship through the development, implementation, maintenance, reconciling and tracking of budgets for the Institute for Critical Infrastructure Security.

  • Prepare, maintain and reconcile business documents, payroll records, P-card reports.

  • Monitors and supports compliance with awards grants and contracts, assisting with grant reports, as needed.

  • Oversees student assistants for the Institute.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Chrome River, and Kenexa programs.

  • Previous experience in higher education, fund accounting, state and federal grants, and financial reporting.
