Position Description:
Assigns and supervises the work of custodians and performs custodial duties involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Supervises a small group of custodians.

Major/Essential Functions:
Cleans and Sanitizes restrooms/ shower stalls, replenishes supplies, sweeps and mops floors, empty trash. Cleans, dusts furniture, fixtures and other features. Work is performed with consistent accuracy.
Sweeps and mops hard surfaced floor areas, vacuums carpeted areas, empty trash. Paying attention to detail in all areas of cleaning, such as cleaning walls, trash cans or trash room areas, corners, edges etc.
Performs work including emergency cleanup of rooms, summer conference, shut down, carpet shampoo and strip and wax. Performs related work as required.
Uses and cares for equipment in a safe and proper manner. Cords are wrapped properly, equipment is used, cleaned and stored properly.
Promotes and practices safety in the workplace. Maintains an accident-free operation.
Uses chemicals in a safe and proper manner. All supplies used for cleaning or paper used for stocking restrooms will be used properly to avoid waste.
Reports needed repairs and property damage either verbally or through the work order system.
Assumes supervisor duties in the absence of the Sr. Lead Custodian.
Orders supplies as needed for maintaining building stock on a daily basis.
Demonstrates basic methods, materials and equipment to new employees. Ensures that all custodial staff are using methods, materials and equipment properly.
Maintains records, completes necessary paperwork required in reporting accidents, attendance, scheduled and unscheduled leave, enters and monitors work orders for completion.
Assigns and supervises the work of the custodial staff in an assigned area or building.
Visual and written inspections are completed as requested or required. Ensures work was completed according to the Departments quality control expectations.

7:30am-4:30pm Mon-Fri, Emergency Calls, weekend schedule, move in, on call, and variable work schedule

Working knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in assigned work.
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time.
Knowledge and ability to instruct and lead a group of custodians in the cleaning and care of buildings.
Ability to assign and check the work of subordinates.
