Position Description:

As a Position Management Analyst within the Compensation & Operations department, you will be a key contributor to ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of position-related processes. This role involves providing excellent customer service to the campus community, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues related to HR compensation and operations matters. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and processing electronic Personnel Action Forms (ePAFs), managing onboarding documents, processing position management requests and ensuring compliance with university and regulatory guidelines.

Major/Essential Functions:

The Position Management Analyst is responsible for the management and oversight of the organization’s position control system, ensuring that positions are accurately tracked, classified, and maintained throughout the employee lifecycle. This role involves analyzing, auditing, and reconciling data related to workforce planning, organizational structure, and staffing levels, while ensuring compliance with internal policies, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Collaboration & Support :

  2. Provide support and guidance to departments regarding position management policies, practices, and system usage.

  3. Job Requisition and New Hire Offer Review :

  4. Collaborate with HR partners to ensure accurate classification of positions according to organizational guidelines, job families, and applicable regulations.

  5. Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of new job requisitions and new hire offers. Ensure alignment between job duties and the selected job title, verify pay rates, confirm the availability of position numbers.

  6. Position Control Management :

  7. Monitor position changes, including new positions, position reclassifications, ensuring proper approval and documentation.

  8. Enter new data changes, track and ensure the integrity of position data aligns with TTU’s compensation philosophy, organizational structure, and staffing plans.

  9. Position Analysis & Compliance :

  10. Accurately analyze and process ePAF transactions to ensure correct title, benefit status, and compensation.

  11. Ensure employee document compliance with all university, state, and federal guidelines.

  12. Audit & Compliance :

  13. Conduct regular audits of position data to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance with organizational standards.

  14. Address discrepancies in position data and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.

  15. Special Projects:

  16. Undertake special projects as assigned to support the Compensation and Operations area, contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency.

The Compensation and Operations team develops, coordinates, and advises university administration, faculty, and staff on issues related to competitive pay, job classification, hiring compliance, and employment changes. This team provides guidance on topics such as appropriate salary ranges, job titles, and similarly compensated employees to departmental leaders, supervisors, and divisional vice presidents.
