Leprino Foods Production Team Member III in Lubbock, Texas
For our future state-of-the art 600+ person Lubbock, TX cheese and whey manufacturing facility, Leprino is seeking a Production Team Member III. We take pride in our vision to be the "world's best", it's why we work harder, invest more, and continually innovate.
Leprino Foods broke ground on the $1 Billion facility in the summer of 2022. The plant will be operation in 2024 with Phase 1 and will become fully operational by 2026 with Phase 2.
Summary:
The CheeseDepartment Team Member III role is trained to perform the mechanical functions and understand the required Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned operator roles within the cheese department. Our skilled operators are expected to develop an expert level knowledge of the functioning and troubleshooting of their machine and/or area.
Schedule:
Leprino Foods is a 24/7 operating facility; the employee must be willing and able to workdays or nights. The current schedule will typically be M-F 8am-430pm with a 30 minute lunch break. Begining later this year as we prepare to begin production, our schedules run 12 hours on a 2-2-3 rotation that allows for every other weekend off.
After training is complete, new hires will be assigned a regular schedule on the next available shift.
Pay Rate:
$26per hour
$0.75 shift differential for all evening hours worked between 6pm and 6am any day of the week.
Responsibilities:
Operate the Separators, Vat, Noltec, Mixers, Finesavers, DMC, P2 and CIP systems

Start up and shut down the machinery, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements
Complete daily checklists
Take timely samples to the lab for analysis and obtain results promptly. React to all results and notify and out of spec conditions to the Team Lead or Supervisor.
Handle and test chemicals
Enter data into MES computer system.
Ability to troubleshoot all equipment and identify potential problems. Communicate problems to Department management.
Follow all GMPs and work in a safe manner. Report any unsafe conditions.
Ensure proper housekeeping through a clean work area. Ensure no product or chemical leaks.
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders as required for the position.
Must be able to work Sunday - Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, and required overtime to support a 24 hour/7 day operation.
Preferred skills:
Experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Background or aptitude towards maintenance or mechanical functions.
Proficient computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office products.
Familiarity or ability to learn SAP, or similar integrated manufacturing system.
Prior food industry experience.
Physical Demands & Environment:
This position will be exposed to working in a wet/slippery environment with loud noise in varying degrees of temperature. Must be able to withstand high heat and humidity. Handles hazardous chemicals
Specific vision may be required for this position, including close vision, distance vision, color and depth perception, and the ability to read computer screens for extended time periods.
Ability to pass a physical abilities test to assess ability to bend, reach, lift, pull, and climb stairs/ladders.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs hourly, climb a ladder, and walk up/down stairs regularly.
