Position Description:

Assigns and supervises the work of custodians and performs custodial duties involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Supervises the work of five or more custodians.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of assigned building(s) per TTU Custodial Team Cleaning standards.

  • Follows Team Cleaning Absence Staffing Plan.

  • Performs key handler duties by picking up and dropping off keys daily, ensuring the security of the building by locking doors at the assigned time.

  • Assist Area Supervisor by maintaining the inventory of cleaning equipment and supplies.

  • Coordinate with staff that there are accurate counts of those supplies.

  • Orders laundered items needed for the week on assigned day(s).

  • Provides direction, training, and work review to assigned custodial staff.

  • Organizes and assigns work, sets priorities, and follows up to ensure the coordination and completion of assigned work.

  • Good team building skills by showing a willingness to assist others as needed.

  • Excellent written, face-to-face, and telephone communication skills.

  • 5 year experience in building custodial work and floor maintenance.

  • Experience in training others.

  • Experience in supervising custodian teams.
