LPVEC - LPN for Special EDU Student Job ID:4740544 Starting Date:Immediately Job Description Full time open position in our Ludlow location for a LPN to work one on one with a special needs student. Perform nursing duties as directed by RN school nurse including but not limited to G-Tube feeds, dressing changes, and toileting duties Attend and participate in required training programs, staff meetings, and online training Student de-escalation and restraining as deemed necessary Treat all children with dignity and respect Promote independence and integration of the child to whom the LPN is assigned to Display the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with the students, parents, co-workers, other school personnel and members of the community Punctuality and full attendance regularly Understand and abide by all safety provision Maintain confidentially Report and record information daily on observations including discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior Communicate information to appropriate personnel for actions taken Serve as a role model for students & staff in demonstrating positive attitudes, appropriate attire and grooming, & an effect work ethic Abide by LPVEC guidelines for personnel policies Responsible for supervising students and assisting in maintain a safe environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in special needs programs, autism and mentally disabled and or moderate disability disorders CPR Certified or have the ability to obtain a valid first aid CPR certificate Experience working with students having special needs, specifically Autism (preferred) Understanding of 51A and 504/IEP Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis, Activities of Daily Living, Augmentative Communication, and Behavior Management Discreet Trial Teaching and data collection Must hold a current active LPN License and have experience with G-Tube Feeding At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred. Associate degree preferred.
